Chinook 2019vs2

Chinook is an event designed to invite students onto the Oak Hills campus providing an opportunity for spiritual growth, fun filled experiences, and checking out the college at the same time. The focus is on youth and their spiritual growth giving them an Oak Hills experience that they will remember.

This years 2019 Chinook happens to coincide with the MERCYME & Crowder concert. The first twenty student to register will receive a discounted ticket. You will pay $15.00 instead of $35.00 at the door. Students will be chaperoned to and from the concert. This is a fantastic opportunity to check out Bemidji and see a pair of nationally acclaimed Christian recording artists!
Fast Facts about Chinook:
  • REAL FAITH: We want you to grow your love deeper for Jesus Christ, developing a personal and a biblical faith. There will be multiple speakers addressing questions you may have, such as keeping your faith strong in college, godly dating, and rising into leadership. As you pray, learn and worship together at Oak Hills, God will work within to draw us closer to himself.

  • REAL LEARNING: At Oak Hills Christian College, you’ll learn to understand and interpret Scripture rightly, develop an explicitly biblical worldview and be well-equipped for your career. Speak to professors and attend actual classes alongside college students to learn what your academic experience will be like.

  • REAL LIFE: What's life at Oak Hills like outside of class and chapel? Let's get together and play group games (dodgeball, sledding, or Ulti-Mud Frisby), and tour the campus where our students often enjoy outdoor activities, such as lake fishing. At night, our students will open up their dorm rooms so you can experience life in the residence hall.

Can't attend both days?

Guests can come on Friday if they can’t make both days. This way you can get most of the Oak Hills experience while still working with your purposeful schedule.

Parents/Youth Leaders/Co-Op Leaders:

Hello! You are important to us, too. We know life can be taxing, and we appreciate all you have done to pour into your student’s life. Come join the festivities, but also know there will be breakout sessions designated especially for you. Have coffee and spend some time in devotion with other leaders. Use these times to allow God to breathe refreshment into your bones, inspire, and be inspired with the fellowship of other leaders. After all, spring is just around the corner!
